Leg pain

I am going in for a hysterectomy on Monday.  I've been having severe right pain.  It's kind of in my groin area and radiates down my leg.  If I tiouch a certain point on my inner thigh it hurts bad.  The pain is overwhelming.  I'm taking Vicodin just to take the edge off.  Went to see my GYN on Wed with the complaint and he said stay off of my feet, take vicodin, and moved my surgery up to Monday.  Pain was terrible today and went to ER.  Did lab work and nothing else.  I expected pelvis pain but, pain in my groin and thigh?? I thought blood clot (though didn't voice this)  The GYN and PA I saw don't seem to be concerned.  They think it's just radiating pain.  I do not have my right ovary and the pain is on my right side.  Anyone experience anything like this?? The anticpation of surgery is bad enoughm this strange (but potent) pain is driving me nuts??
Any thoughts??
Thanks you.

Kelly

Do I know leg pain!!  But, I don't know why you have leg pain when you have no ovary on that side; I can only surmise that you have pain coming from the uturus??  I have, in the past week or so, been afraid of a blood clot also as my legs are totally swollen as well, but I haven't called the dr. yet.  I think whatever is going on for you is pressing on your back on a nerve or a few nerves, as is mine.  I've been on the strongest form of vicoden for quite some time now with narely any relief.  What has helped, and my pain center prescrib0ed it, is Lyrica, but OMG - dopey - like can't do anything dopey!  I only take it at night, but it relieves the leg pain for 24 hours about.  They said my leg nerves and muscles are actually convulsing and this is an anti-convulsant drug.  But since you are having surgery on Monday, I hope you can wait it out.  I'm glad they moved up your surgery - it stinks waiting!

You are in my thoughts and prayers for a good outcome!  Elizabeth

Thanks for the reply.  Heat helps a bit.  I will voice my concerns again Monday morning.  I'm not sure what else to do.  I have to go through with the surgery.  I haven't felt well for a while and I'm hoping this is the "cure".  I'll let you know how it all goes.

I had pain after my right ovary was removed but it did go away.
I did have groin pain after my second surgery, but again, it was noramal
postop recovery pain and was manageable.
In reading your story, I can not imagine how excutiating this must be.
If pain medication is not helping and it is sore to touch, I would be
concerned.
I am not sure why the Drs are not doing more for you??
Sounds as though they are stumped also.

Do you feel left to figure this out for yourself? Do you have support?
What happens if you still have pain on Monday?
Does heat or cold help perhaps?
