Lesion on Ovary and pain, hairloss

Hello,

i'm 28 and experienced abdominal pain the last six months. So two months ago I went for an ultrasound and a lesion was discovered on my right ovary - it's not separate from the ovary. So the gynae increased my pill dosage slightly and said it was possible that a low-dose pill was awakening my cysts - though I don't know if I've ever had any before. I've been on the pill for 6 years now but has stopped for 5 months coz gynae said it was good for the system - all bull from what I've read online now. Was on tri-phasic to begin with. The low-dose pills were started after I was told to stop them for 5months or so.

I also started losing hair a couple of months after getting off the pill last year and am still losing it - but am on minoxidil, multivitamins and zinc now. And will be starting oestrogen-rich birth control pills next week.

After two months I went for another ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and it turns out the lesion is a bit smaller (but there are still echogenic areas on it), and it is not separate from the ovary and sometimes I get a dull pricking pain in the lower right side.
This is the ultrasound reading: Lft ovary is normal and measures 2.5X1.2cm
Rt ovary is enlarged: 3.2X2.1cm, shows a cystic lesion with peripheral echogenic solid area measuring 2.2X1.4cm. No free fluid seen in abdomen and pelvis.

My CA125 test result is 9.
(Butmy Follicle stimulating hormone on the 6th day was at 14.6 which is apprently high)

Am I a candidate for ovarian cancer? (the pain freaks me out - I don't know if it's psychosomatic now). No history of ovarian cancer in the family.

Or am I a candidate for ovarian failure and infertility. Very stressed about that as no baby-making in the offing - not unless boyfriend wants to spring really big surprise.. :-)

PLEASE HELP. I'm having nightmares from the stress- and I don"t think it's helping my hair either!

Hard to say, how about going back to GYNO and ask for a CT or MRI..I think those are more acurate than ultrasounds...sometimes cysts/tumors/mass are hidden or behind and I read about someone had them in her ovaries.
Taked deep breaths when you feel anxious and hope you get an answer soon.

I encourage you to go back to your Dr and get everything explained to you.  The ultrasound does not say anything about the possibilty of OC.  You have several things in your favor to not get OC, you have been on BCP, your age, hair loss is not a sign of cancer.  The hair loss can be a sign of other endocrine disorders so you do need to talk with your doctor to find out what is going on.  Good luck
