Liver mass

by Ang80, Nov 11, 2007 11:23AM
Mum OVCA stage 3 March 2005, remission currently BUT with liver mass.

We were told by one Dr the liver mass might be cancer returned but then another person has said that as mums CA125 is only 31 (was 512 when first ill March 2005) it couldn't be cancer in the liver.
We were also told that as mum didn't have any symptoms and that it was an isolated mass in the liver its unlikely to be cancer.

We feel that we are going round in circles and don't know what to do.
With mums CA125 of 31 is it likely to be cancer, as when she was ill with OVCA her ca125 was 512.

Also, the Dr said that if it was cancer in her liver there would be ascities and other signs, is this true? But we don't know what the mass is yet.

Mum had an MRI scan last week and we get the results of that on tuesday.

Thanks

Hi Ang,
Ultimately, the only way to know if the liver mass is cancer or not is for her to have a biopsy. You should ask her doctor about that . Please let us know what the MRI shows
