Low Malignant Potential Tumor

My partner was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and had surgery to remove 2 tumors (one on each ovary). Pathology during the surgery came back saying it was either LMP or a low grade cancer. Pathology after surgery came back as Stage 2C, grade 2. We asked for a 2nd opinion. Stanford has come back with LMP. Our HMO still thinks it is cancer. We have now requested a 3rd opinion. If the 3rd comes back LMP or cancer, what do we do? Who do we trust? Should she have chemo "just in case?"

I have had a low grade cancer, stage 3, for 14 years. Some doctors call it borderline, but I never heard a doctor say it was not a cancer. They say I am lucky because it does not travel and it grows slowly. I am unlucky because my death can be pretty gruesome, and chemo has little effect on it. I have had chemo 3 times. It was inaffective. Chemo works on fast growing cells, my cancer is slow growing. My doc found that good old Tamoxifen works good for me. My abdomen fills with fluid occassionally, but they siphon it off, like siphoning gas from a car. I lay and watch  and the only pain is when they deaden my abdoman. I have done lots of research. More people with this cancer die from treatment than the cancer. MDAnderson is doing a study on what works and what doesn't at the present time. I think they are in the 2nd stage. Polly
