Low Neutrophils - 1 Year Post-Chemo

I just had routine blood work which showed that my WBC and neutrophils are low. WBC are 3.6 (normal 4-10.5) and neutrophils are 1.7 (normal 1.8-7.8). My last chemo treatment was in March 2006, a little over a year ago. My oncologist says it's a residual effect from the chemo and he wants to check them again in a month.

How common is this? I remember asking him why they don't recheck the CBC after the last treatment and he said because without any further treatments, it will go back to normal. Hmmm...

Is my bone marrow messed up for good now?

Hello, my name is Amy. My son is a month old and we ran into a problem at 3 days of life. Jondist was the reason for the CBC but his platelet levels were noticed to be low. I have been sent to a hemotologist and he's working on it now. We were there today and I am looking at his CBC, his neutrophils are at 15 and the normal starting level is at 40. Is that bad? I should have looked before I left and asked any questions then. That's my fault. I am looking for point of views from others. Back to his platelet levels, there are notes on a few printed CBC results that I have. There is also a note at the bottom of the one done today stating "MANY LARGE ABD SOME GIANT PLATELETS NOTED"
I have been looking online under things that are listed in his CBC to be low and high. I'm only 23 and don't have extended knowledge on such things....would someone please help me understand??? Thanks ~Amy

Hanging in there, thanks for asking. Last CT scan in March showed that cursed "tiny amount" of fluid which still worries me but apparently not the doc. Now the neutrophils. Tumormarker is 14.4, my range is 9-15, so it has been steady since the second treatment January 2006. Next checkup will be the end of July so I should be in the clear until then and be able to do summer, right?

Reviving my photography which is a big passion and helps greatly to keep me happy and worry-free.

I check in here sometimes to see who is still here...I assume and hope that those who are not, are too busy living life, much like myself.
