Lymph Nodes and Mass

Ok so after seeing the OB/GYN.. I have surgery scheduled for next Thursday. I took the copy of my US to him. Then he did a PAP and felt and manipulated my pelvic area. He said he could feel a pretty significant mass and enlarged lymph nodes. He has said that is very possible that I have to have a complete hysterectomy and some lymph nodes removed, but the GYN/ONC will be able to tell me better about the surgery when I see him.

Why would I need lymph nodes removed for cysts? What would make them enlarged? Will I be able to have all this removed laproscopically?

I was think this was no big deal but now I am definitely getting scared. The idea of a complete hysterectomy is overwhelming since I am about to get married. I have helped my brother raise my nieces since his wife left.....but I definitely wanted my own kids.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear this knowing that you want kids. Let's hope it is not a complete hysterecomy.

Inflamed lyph nodes are something to worry about but doesn't necessarily mean cancer.

Thank you so much Helen....don't think I have ever been this scared. It does s*** to have surgery before Christmas, but if it makes me feel better than it will be a great Christmas gift.
