Maintenance Chemotherapy or not?

I am 45 years old, and was diagnosed with Stage IIIC OvCa 2 1/2 years ago. I had complete laparotomy, histerectomy, etc., and 1st line chemo of Taxol and carboplatnum, followed by a 2nd look laparotomy which was normal.  I had a recurrance 18 months after that, and was put on doxil and gemzar - I'm on my 5th cycle now, and a 6th cycle is likely. My CA-125 is "5.", and has been "5" for the last few cycles. The doctor is recommending a low dose maintenance chemo after the doxil/gemzar.  My other doctor disagrees, saying maintenance chemo has never been proven to prevent or delay recurrence in ovarian cancer.  Do you have any information or opinion on this, and/or some suggested resources where I can get more information.  Thank you.
