Marie - just noticed in your post about the get together this summerSummers eve anti-itch about you having a big surgery. Did I miss something? What is going on.
Thinking about you and sending lots of positive thoughts,
Love,
Pam
I was taken off chemo since the tumor near the liver grew on treatment. My onc referred me to a surgeon to see if he could remove the tumor. He does not know until he gets in if the tumor is in the liver or behind. The man that did the biopsy of it said it is behind the liver. Ct says in the liver. I am scheduled for surgery 7/27. Need the time to allow the Avastin to leave my body and to rebuild my strength. This chemo took more out of me than I could spare. I was not at all disappointed that they said the chemo was not working. I could not have survived many more of those treatments!! I am happy to never again have that 5fu pump hooked to my body. I am now feeling better. The surgeon will remove my no good gallbladder even if tumor proves to be inoperable. That will give me great relief. The pain I have is not from the tumor, but the gallbladder disease. I think the tumor can be removed. I like the surgeon and hear he is the best in my area should I need a liver resectionEye muscle repair Large bowel resection Large bowel resection - series Prostate removal Small bowel resection Small bowel resection - series. My oncologist has been trying so hard to fix me up. Sorry I ever doubted her interest in helping me. I feel better about my life than I have in a while. I can handle whatever comes my way as long as it does not include 5fu / folfox chemo!! Love, Marie
Good luck with the liver tumor. I have a "spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots" 3.3cm on or near my liver as well. The carbo/taxotere did not touch it. I just finished 4 rounds of topo. # rose 30 points after round 3 but that could have been due to infection/antibiotics associated with port. Will know in 2 weeks if # goes down and round 4 of topo is working. Here's my question, how many chemos do I try before I just ask to have the "spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots" removed? I know there are a lot of drugs I haven't tried, but am anxious to get this annoyance gone before I need to deal with new stuff.
I am happy for your upcoming surgery .. gallbladder and liver tumor. Doesn't it just make you feel like you are moving forward! Good luck and God Bless.
Marie,
This sounds promising. I am glad to hear it and will be anxious to hear from you after your surgery. I am glad you are off the chemo also. You do need a break to give your body a chance to get stronger. Will be praying for you, Colleen
Marie,
I hate hearingAge-related hearing loss Audiology Hearing loss Hearing or speech impairment - resources this but it sounds as though your onc truely does care. I hope that the surgery will fix all of the problems and that you will come out of it feeling just like new. I have been thinking about you lately as I do not see much out of you. Maybe if the tumor is in the liver they can get it shrunk enough to do a RFA.
You are in my prayers.
Love Chris
