Misdiagnosis?

I have been having a very irritating discomfort in my left mid abdominal area for two weeks now. I went to a family doctor because I didnt think that it had anything to do with my ovaries being that it was so high up. He diagnosed it as diverticulitis and gave me the option of having a CT scan. I am 23, so I opted to do the CT scan. Results came back as "Bladder and uterus are within normal limits. There is a simple left ovarian cyst measuring 2.6 cm in diameter. Trace free fluid is noted in the pelvis." Also it says "Impression: 1.)Simple left ovarian cyst, representing a functional cyst. 2.) Constipation."  Is there a chance that its actually a tumor and not a cyst? I ask because I had other symptoms along with just the discomfort in my abdomen. I have been very fatigued, lower back pain, extremely decreased appetite with slight weight gain(??) and have nausea off and on and like it said, I also have constipation. I "googled" information on ovarian cancer symptoms and all these fit. ALSO, I lost my mother to cervical cancer, 5 years ago. Does that have any correlation to ovarian cancer? If it does should I be concerned with what is going on now. I do have an appt set with my OB, but I am so worried.... could someone please give me some kind of insight as to what I should think at this point?

ovarian cysts are the normal monthly consequence of ovulation
