Mom- Cisplatin started chemo today,wound dr, port update

Started chemo today they only gave her Cisplatin. Started Emend and now its a wait and see. Went to the wound specialist and they seem to think it all looks good. they have authorized a wound vac. We are waiting for it to be put in. Tommorow she sees the surgeon consult to have port put in.

Are they only giving Cisplatin, or will they do the Taxol next?  I found the I/V Taxol pretty easy to tolerate.   Glad the wound is looking better.  Marie

They only gave her cisplatin because of the open wound they didnt want to do the taxol that would suppress her immune system. Next week she goes in for blood work and then plan of care to see what well do in 3 weeks. They really are trying to kill the cancer cells which we pray will, then shell have less ascites and the wound will heal quicker
