Mom cyst

My mother had surgery for an ovarian cyst that was 8cm large. The dr told us the cyst did appear to be precancerous but had to send it to the pathologist. He also decided to remove her tubes ovaries and uterus. Does this mean she has cancer  beyond worried?!?

They said it is a very rare form of squamous cell ovarian cancer. He knows the stage but has not yet told my mom as he wants to meet with the board of oncologist, pathologist, etc... first. I am so upset I have been an emotional wreck. I wont eat or sleep.

Fear is normal. Waiting for test results are hard. I am here for you and I care.

He won't say anything until pathology comes back. I'm so scared it's gonna be too late to do anything.

If she does not have a predisposition for / family history of ovarian cancer, it is unlikely to be cancerous. It is a shame that her surgeon removed her other sex organs but, sadly, that is far too common. It happened to me too :(

She still has a 2% in her life time of getting ovarian cancerous. If the pathology comes back okay I would not worry. Many doctors are over eager to take all a woman's organs they figure we do not need them.. If had thought it was cancer they would have taken the omentum which is the fat lining of the major organs. It is hard not to worry.
