My cysts and mass are no where to be found-for now!

We have been following complex bilateral ovarian cysts since August.  The left one had a 1cm solid mass with papillary projections.  I was scheduled for surgery this morning but  an u/s  last week revealed no cysts, no mass, but lots of free fluid.  The gyn/onc sent me back to my reg gyn.  He was not too happy to see me because he felt like my care had turned over to this other doc and he should have taken care of it.  But my reg gyn is wonderful and said that he first wanted another u/s because u/s are only as good as the tech doing it.  He said the free fluid is somewhat of an issue but wanted to see my ovaries first.  I had the u/s and again no cysts no masses.  The tech asked if I had people praying for me, which I had, because the only way for them to have disappeared without pain was thru prayer.  I have great faith that it could happen but it usually happens to someone else.  It is hard to digest that it is completely gone without any physical intervention.  I go back to see my reg gyn on Jan 23 and he may do a lap to see what is still causing the pain and why I have so much free fluid.  Ladies I appreciate all of you that have prayed or given me advice these last few months. I have gained lots of knowledge that I hope  to be able to help someone else with in the future.
While lots of bad things have happened with the invention of the internet, many great things, such as this site, has come about because of the "wired world".

Mary,
We had a stage III ovca patient who was diagnosed only after her cyst ruptured.  U/s showed both ovaries looked fairly normal but that she had fluid accumulation.  She waited 2 months before she finally went to the ER with bowel distention and had a massive amount of ascites(fluid).  She was sent out of state to a university hospial and had an exploratory lap that revealed small tumors on both ovaries, numerous small tumor nodules in the cul de sac and  tumor seedlings on her omentum.  The pelvic washings were full of cancerous cells.  It is scary.  Yet I see there are so many of us with benign issues posting to this site as opposed to so few with ovca.  It makes you see that it is a rarity to get ovca but makes you fearful because it seems so hard to diagnose.  Thank you for your replies.  I enjoy writing back and forth to you.  You, too, are a  truly intelligent lady.

My worry now is that if by some slim chance that the left ovary had some cancerous issue to it, then It has been left in cul de sac to wash over my pelvis or to set absorbed in my body.  I need to stop thinking about what if and just relax until I see my doctor again on the 23rd.  Thanks ladies for your posts-they keep me going!!

No explanations yet. I see the doc again Jan 23.  I still have paon and that is the most confusing part.  The fluid has about 10 lbs added to me right now.  Good luck with your issues!!

What a roller coaster ride you have been on my dear.  Is the fluid causing you pain?  I too have been dealing with these "mysterious" cysts.  They are hemorrhagic cysts, and they just keep coming and going.  I too seem to always have fluid that is showing up on my ultrasounds.  There are a couple of days that will go by, I will feel fine, and then the pain comes back.  I can tell now when I have a cyst.  My doctor doesn't seem to have any explanation for why these cysts keep coming back.  I had a CA-125 test done, and it was in normal range.  I too am concerned with the "fluid" that continues to be in my pelvic area.  I want answers of "what", "why" and "how" it is there and keeps reoccuring.  Should there be concern for the fluid.  I am going to another doctor next week for a second opinion.  In the meantime, I am dealing with another ovar. cyst.  This one was close to 4cm as of Wed. on ultrasound.  If I remember correctly, wasn't your "mass" a solid one?  What is there explanation of where it went?  I hope you feel better.
