Neuropathy

I am looking for some advice. After my 10th chemo treatment i started to feel slight numbness in my toes amd fingers. The numbness has been around for over three weeks. I spoke with my Onc. nurse when I had my chemo yestrerday. I was hoping that these symptoms would disappear once I finished with my chemo. She gave me the impression that these symptoms may not go away. Yikes!!  So my question is has anyone who had neuropathy had their symptoms go away and if yes what did you do to help them go away. Right now my symptoms are just annoying and are not affecting my lifestyle. Thanks...any advice is welcome. Julie

Hi Julie, I took 100mg of Vitamin B6 and had some little neuropathy. It worked for me and I've had 13 chemos so far getting my last one next Monday. Good Luck,

I had it after my during and after my chemo.  It is now almost completely gone. I took b-6, but didn't notice it helping.  I think it just took time to recover.  Now that I am better I get to start all over with a new chemo!  Fun?  No, but I think I am up for it.  I hope you get back to your pre-chemo self really quickly.  Marie

I finished Chemo in Sept 05 and still have mild neuropathy in my feet , I never had it in my hands and I must say that it is a heck of a lot better than it was . My Onc said that it can take a long while in some cases for it to go completely. I know that some people take something that lessens the severity of it so hopefully they will see your post and advise.

Best Wishes

I take Neurotin for my neuropathy.  It lessens the symptoms.
