Newbie

Hello, I'm new here. I'm waiting on bloodwork after ultrasound showed having complex mass. I'm worried as I see some of you are too. :( I am so grateful that I found this forum. :-)

You have a lot on your plate. The other blood tests are to see how your normal hormone levels. Possibly to see if you are going into early menopause. Could you have bowel problems for another reason? If you get a partial obstruction your bowels are like a funnel. If you have too much fiber or liquid it backs up.

Ty for your reply. I needed some reassurance :-)  I'm still waiting on my results. Is it normal for them to do so many blood tests other than the CA 125? Mine are CA125; Quant HCG; AFP; CEA; LH and FSH... To tell you more about myself....I'm 46 and had a hysterectomy in 2006, all they left was my right ovary they did take the tube. I have herniated lumbar disc , Lyme disease, sarcoidosis and hypothyroidism. I know it's a lot. However, the past year or more I have been to the ER and GI doctors because my stomach gets so distended that I look 9 months pregnant, I can barely eat because of feeling bloated and my back pain has increased and it's just not the normal pain??? I was fixing to have more tests on my back to consider having surgery and I thought I should rule out one last thing...and that was have my ovary checked. To be honest, I really did not think I would be faced with this :( I have a friend who was diagnosed last year with stage 4 ovarian cancer, bless her heart :(  she had similar problems however she was having really bad bleeding along with back pain. Unfortunately she said she was in denial and wished she would have been checked sooner. So after hearing about hers is what got me thinking. I'm so glad to have found this community, I can't help but worry.

Most ovarian masses are benign. 98% or them. Even complex masses. Hopefully the blood work will be normal. When do you get the results? What is your doctors plan another ultrasound in a few weeks or months? Keep us posted.
