The local newspaper did an interview with me after we came home from Springfield. If any of you are interested in reading it, go to olneydailymail.com It is the top news story for today. (small town paper!)
Wow, Chris, that was a great article. Think of how many womenWomen's way you will help just by that article alone. Glad that you met someone else in your area that can relate so well to. and it is great that she is a 10 year survivor!! Hugs, Colleen
I loved the article...It is a baby step but with that one step you and all the other womenWomen's way on this forum can be proud of; the awareness by having the event in Springfield and by the knowledge love and supportSupport Support 500 that you give on this forum, and I think the next steps will be bigger yet. You and the rest of the ladies here are the best..........
I just read your interview, you did a great job. I hope that we will someday see Teal as much as we see Pink. I was hoping to see more coverage in magazines I subscribe to in their Sept issues but there was only an ad in two of them for Loreal colorColor blindness Color blindness tests Color vision test of hope line and that was only one page and in the same issue was a 4 page spread on Breast Cancer. I emailed Marie Osmond's site last week to see if she could make a doll for Ovarian Cancer awareness she has one for Breast Cancer but never heard back from the site. I think she would be a good way to bring attention to it. I wish I could have been there at the weekend get together. Maybe next year I can.
What a great article.. I would like to see it on the front page of the New York time or the La Times...Your interview was marvelous..telling it just like it is.. thank you for telling our story... Love Ronni
Fabulous article! I, too, would like to see this story get more press. Since September is the month, maybe someone out there knows how to move this story to say the Today show, or Oprah??? It's a thought....
FANATASTIC ! Do you know whether that reporter will be doing any ovca articles in Sept ? ( How lucky you were to hook up with Mary McGlasson, truthful reporting. )
What a great article Chris , I was dabbing my eyes with a tissue too !! . You worked hard to make that trip happen and you deserve all the praise you recieve !!!. Its great that you have met this 10 year survivor to chat to and I hope you become good friends.
i was wondering ... can the author sumit that articcle to any of the womens magazines ??? that would be the one to boost awareness i imagine ... in any event ... even a small town paper can show grace and make positive strides
hail to the small town peeps :)
love

I just read the article in your local paper and wanted to Thank You for "getting it out there".
I personally didn't know anything about OvCa or know anyone with it until i was dx with it and i'm embarrassed to admit that until recently (since i joined this forum at the beginning of the month) I had no idea OvCa had its own ribbon and colour! I have since asked everyone i know, including phoning into talk back radio station and asking them on air..and not one person knew, they all said "its a pink ribbon, everyone knows that".
I don't write a lot on the forums, simply because I don't know enough to help others like you and so many of the other ladies do, but from someone that has learnt so much just by coming here and reading the posts, I hope you all know how much your advice and hand of friendship is appreciated.
I think that was a wonderful article and the look on your face was one of sheer joy. You did a wonderful job and we are all grateful. It was a lovely weekend and I wouldn't have missed it for anything.
Love,
Jan

I am so sorry I was "off" the boards and missed the trip to meet you all.
Sandymac sent me a message and prompted me to return to where all of you lovely kind ladies provided me with such support and encouragement during my time of need.
I am doing well, getting stronger, and I hope the same for all of you.
You are a lovely person, in my thoughts and prayers, and I just wanted to send a Thank You for your hard work, and value to the people on here!
By the way are we able to buy the "t" shirts?
Love,
Dawnlyn
