OT!! Went to ER this evening

Well Ladies, I went to the ER tonight and the doctor there said that she was very glad that I came in.  She said she could tell that I have been taking very good care of my opening as there is NO INFECTION!!!!!  She said that it is normal to have orangish/yellowish watery seepage with an open wound like mine.  She also said that it my heal in a week or so or it is possible that the whold incision may open up (looks like the skin next to the opening is about to open too).  She said that it will just have to heal itself from the inside out.  She was so nice and took the time to explain things to me (You would think that the nurse Practioner would want to do that, but NO!!).  Thank you all so very much for your concern and advice.  You all mean so very much to me.  Love you!!

Kasie - glad you went to the ER and had someone look at it....have been thinking about you a lot this week...turns out that my sister did not heal 100 percent and also has a small opening.  She is only 10 days out of surgery and they have a visiting nurse coming in to clean it out and pack it daily.  But, it will heal and so will you.

Love you,
Pam

I'm glad you got some good news and most of all that your anxiety and fear have gone down.  I always feel like I shouldn't bother the Dr.,but sometime you just have too. Peace of mind is wonderful...I hope all heals better this week~~~Joanne

Kasie,
I am glad to hear that everything is normal. I wish I had read the original post as I could have told you that happened to me too. (although that wouldn't have kept you from getting it checked out, lol).  I was concerned because I had the same stuff coming from my incision and the surgeon told me that when they cut your layers of skin, there is a fat layer that gets cut too and that is what is draining (fat, basically). I am sure he said it in more medical terms. I told him, then "hey, let's drain all my fat while we are at it!"
Thankfully, he thought that was funny.  We did have to pack mine a little bit and then it granulated just fine - although I have a funky looking scar. Now I have one on my forehead to match!
Hope you feel good! Hugs, Colleen

Glad to hear there's no infection. Some hospital germs are tough to get rid of. If the wound continues to open up, let the doctor/nurse know. If it gets too large, they may have to pack it and let it granulate in that way. I had to do that with a 45 lb beaver and she wasn't too cooperative. I'm sure you'll be a wonderful patient. Keep an eye on the incision and take care of yourself.

Kasie,
I am glad to hear that. I guess we all kind of got panicky but it just did not sound normal. I know that it had to make you feel better and it sure makes all of us feel better too. Now just take it easy so that it does not open up any more!
  Love Chris

I am sorry now I got so panicky for you.  Who'd a thunk it?  It just doesn't SOUND normal, but I am glad they told you all was okay; if you call orangish/yellowish watery seepage okay.  You are to pretty to have that kind of mess on your tummy.
Well, I hope it closes up soon as that must be kind of gross for you.
Take care honey
Love,
Jan
