Ovarian Cancer Symptoms

by paddy5000, Nov 24, 2003 12:00AM
My wife , 48 years - diagnosed with PE 3 months ago -warfarin treatment - PE is idiopathic (no DVT found). Vague symptoms - intermittent throbbing pain in both legs while supine, abdominal discomfort - bloated full feeling - change in bowel habits, weight gain - more fatigued than normal. Abdominal ultrasound done - presume negative, blood work - presume negative. Strong family history - Mother uterine & breast cancer survivor - father died from colon cancer. Scheduled for upper & lower GI endoscopy in 3 months. Our physician does not agree that more agressive cancer screening is necessary especially MR of pelvis- told that we do not practice that kind of medicine in Canada - that we should go to US. I have much concern that an occult ovarian cancer may be at the root of the problem here. Any thoughts? How does a Canadian go about getting a referral to your clinic.
