Ovarian Cancer???

Since I was 16 I have had problems with Ovarian Cysts.  For the past 2 1/2 years I have been trying to concieve (conceive), with no success.  I have been on clomid, had a laporoscopy which showed I had Endo, so I was on Lupron for a few months before it became too much for me.  Now 2 months after I come off of lupron, I am having terrible pains in my lower stomach and backpains.  I went in for a sono and my results came back as a very large mass on my ovary.  That is all the doctor would tell me.  He said I needed to come in to discuss treatment.  I can't get in until next week and I am worried that I might be waiting to long if it something more serious.  I have almost every symptom of ovarian cancer.  Should I wait or find another doctor who will see me right away?

I would!  Or, go to the ER (say you have extreme pain) and get a CT.  THis way they will know if other organs are effected. Especially if the mass is large, you want to know what it is ASAP, because you dont want it to burst or cause the ovary to twist (torsion).  But, don't panic!  I have a large cyst , 8cm, that definitely needs to come out (Oct. 25th), and I've waited a couple of months - 2nd opinion, schedule etc. and everyone said it was ok to wait.  BUT, I did not let ANY time go by before being diagnosed with a simple cyst.  GOd forbid, there's something wrong, I wanted to know right away.  Good luck, and be aggressive.  At the very least, get your doc on the phone and say you want a phone conference immediately to discuss the sono results, so you're not left hanging untill next week. If he's concerned about something, then you can move forward right away with lining up the next step.

Thank you so much for your advice.  My doctors office called me back and said it is more than likely a large cyst.  They want to do another sono so I told them I didn't want to waste my time going into the office for the doctor to tell me the same thing and I wanted them to schedule me a sono asap.  So I should find out today.  I know that I am in extreme pain.  I'm trying to do as much reseach so I'm not unprepared and know what questions I need to ask.  If they have to surgically remove this cyst it will be the second time in less than a year.  I'm considering requesting that they remove that ovary because it keeps producing cysts and they get worst everytime.  Thanks again for your response.
