I am 50; I had two UTI's last year. I also had a cervial biopsy (first time ever a PAP came back abnormal) and all was A-OK. I told urologist I was still having slight sensations that were not really painful. She did an ultrasound looking for a possible kidney stone. No stone but she found an ovarian cyst on the left side. Gyno doesn't know if pains are from cyst which is 2 cm (and since a bit bigger on a second U/S). The pains are near the pubic area either right or left or center. Is this the cyst? My periods have been extremely normal and regular my whole life. I only just missed for three months but just had a very normal 5-day period. No problems. Gyno is suggesting if cyst doesn't burst after next period she wants to remove ovary. Why should we go this far? CA125 has been done twice and is normal. I don't want unneeded surgery especially after having 2 breast biopsies last year. (Yes, turning 50 has been an adventure.) I have had back pain for many years (several falls) but worry that worsened back pain is something else. Someone suggested I have a scan of entire lower body. Suggestions, Please!!! Thx!
