Ovarian Cysts

here is a question...About 3 years ago my first OB found a cysts but did nothing --- About 2 years ago I ended up in the ER with a ruptured 4cm complex cysts -- I continued to check with my first OB doct. but after about 1 year I found he was closing up shop so i was in search of a new OB and found one - She has been having me go for ultrasounds for the past year ever few months or so...Now here is the ODD thing...After about 15 T.V.U.S.  it showed a few times small 1cm complex in left ovary and many times complex in right (ranged in size from 2cm up to 4cm) then a few time the left complex went from complex, slightly complex, simple to follicle...then back to complex?  The right side showed from slightly complex to complex (complex mainly)  But what am I to do??  3 years ... i am on BC which the first month I started I did the ultrasound again about 2 months in and the cyst shrunk and changed from slightly complex to complex, then I recently had another (5months later) and that shows increase in size (only approx 3cm) but  from a little under the 2cm on prior- but COMPLEX --- My mothers sister had ovarian cancer and no children...I have no children (37) but have been dealing with this for about 2-3 years ( i lost exact tract) I am also told I do have endo./ So its not going away but sizes flucuate and the left is very odd in "type" and the right goes from slightly to complete complex...She wanted me on Lupron but said i wanted to try BC first...now she tells me she does not want to do surgery BUT if she does I need the Lupron anyway..None of this makes sence..I am on disability due to AS and other factors BUT am wondering if the Doctors are vearing away from anything that is costly??  What to do????  Its frustrating more than anything....;I do have pain so i really would not mind if the Cysts came out...Hopefully not ovaries...thanks for listening, any info. would be greatly appreciated...Thank you!!!

Thank you ladies....My doctor actually called me last week...She is so sweet the way she talks...Its the first time she called since the first ultrasound with her so it was a bit shocking lol ... We are going to wait another 3 months and c---  She said because of it going up and down in size does not make her worried so we shall see what happens...But thank you for helping me...I LOVE this place...TrudieC - I believe the first time I came here about the cyst, last year, you were 1 to write me so thanks again.!! Hope you both enjoy the day :O)

I would also get a second opinion.  Technically, the cysts are within the guidelines of "watch and wait" but it seems like you have had many scans and a consistent problem with cysts.  Ovarian cancer would not get smaller like your cysts have done.  But, with endo and a family history of ovarian cancer, I am not sure about the Lupron and birth control pills.  Have you ever had a CT scan?  Perhaps this would shed more light on the type of cysts you are dealing with.  It doesn't sound like you have confidence in your doctor and a second opinion never hurts.   Trust your intuition.

I would insist on surgery and if she won't do it get to another doctor.
