Ovarian Cysts

by ter63, Sep 05, 2003 12:00AM
Last month I had a vaginal ultrasound which showed a cyst on my left ovary, approximately 2.5 cm.  My doctor had me repeat the ultrasound this month to see if it had changed.  The cyst was 2 cm now, but there were also several small ones on the left and right ovary this time.  I am 40 years old and my mother and grandmother died as a result of ovarian cancer.  One of my mom's sisters also had ovarian cancer in her late 40's, plus 2 aunts and a cousin died from breast cancer.  My doctor will call me next week, but until then, I am worrying.  With my family history, could this be something to be worried about?  I also had a CA 125 in July and it was normal.  Thank you.
