Ovarian Cysts

Am 32. I noticed that i hv breast secretion some 3 yrs ago, saw a dr and parlodel was recommended.  I took it for several months and it never stop and i stoped taking the pill and never did anything about it until February 2006 when i started taking d parlodel again and d secretion never stoped. d doc recommeded DOSTINAX and assured me that it will dry it up. am yet to use the dostinax

I was having pelvic pains on d right, i did a US and it was discovered that i have a cyst 4.8cm on the right and the GYN recommended sugery. i went to a 2nd Gyn who did another scan & said the cyst were on both right and left.  d one on d right is slightly bigger than d one on d left.  He gave me some pills (Primolut -N) and said d cysts will shrink.  after two weeks, i did another US and d Dr said d left cyst has shrinked and d right has reduced.  He asked me to continue with d pills which i did.  I just did another US 2 days ago & the result read that both cysts are still there 6.2cm x 4.4cm (right) 4.8x 3.5cm (left). i am always embarrased by people who think am pregnant as my stomch looks like am 3 - 4 months preg

Am very scared of surgery as i do not know the danger the sugery will pose to my fetility as i will be getting married very soon and my guy want kids badly and i do too.  marriage without kids in Africa is usually not funny. Do you think it's the High polactin level that is causing the cyst.  

Will Doxtinax dry up 2 breast secretion and then the pill (Primolut -N) shrink the cysts.  I dont know what to do, I need to have my own children.

First of all, breathe deeply.  Secondly, ovarian cysts do not mean that you will lose the ovaries.  They can and do save the ovaries quite often.  Make sure you are really open with your doctor about how badly you want children.

Many cysts do resolve on their own.  It all depends on the type of cyst.  You need to trust yourself and trust your doctor.  Ask lots of questions.  Next time you go in, take a list of every single question you can think of.  Then go down the list and ask every question and write down every answer.  Also, take someone with you. If you miss a bit of information, the other person may have heard.

I am not familiar with hormonal treatment of cysts, although I know that other ladies here are.
