Ovarian cancer after Uterine caner

Ovarian cancer after Uterine caner

I had uterine cancer 7 years ago.  I still have my cervix and ovaries.
For the past few months I have had constant watery diarrhea, bad left side pelvic/groin pain, bloating, gas, can only eat small amounts most of the time.
I'm tired all the time too.
I have had a vaginal ultrasound and it showed that I have cysts on my right ovary.  But no pain on that side.
I had a colonoscopy last week and it shows nothing, the biopsies were negative.
My blood work was fine.
So, does the above mean that I still can have ovarian cancer?
I worry because of the uterine cancer that I had when I was only 38.
I also worry because there seems to be no reason for all of my symptoms.
What should I do.
Thank you...
Penny

I can relate to exactly what you are going through as I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer in 2004 I was 39, had a radical hysterectomy which took everything out bar one ovary, everyone was comfortable with that including my oncologist because the pathology of everything that was taken out was excellent and the chance of the cancer coming back was less than 5 per cent.

Unfortunately in my case that 5 per cent happened to me and I developed ovarian cancer and was diagnosed with that in November 2006 and have been undergoing treatment during most of 2007.

My question is did you have a gyn/onc performing all your tests? If you didn't I would suggest that you get a referral to one, and secondly you said that your blood work was fine did that include the CA125 test? Also I would suggest that your doctors either give you a CT scan or PET scan.

Thank you for your comment.

Yes, I did have the CA125 test and it was normal.
The recent test were ordered by my family doctor.

I was told today that he seems to think it may be scar tissue that is causing my pain and is referring me to a surgeon.
I will take the appointment.  But, I am also going to ask to see a gyn/onc.

I also just found out today from some paper work that came in the mail from the doctor that did my hysterectomy that is was advisable to have my ovaries taken out when I went in for another surgery.
How I forgot that and how it got lost in the shuffle is beyond me...

I am scared.  I feel as if I am not being listened too and that it is happening all too slow!

Thanks again.

It is understandable that you are scared and anxious particularly if you feel that you are not being listened too, but remember we are the strongest advocates for our own health.

I wish you luck, keep us posted and if I can help you at all please let me know.

I have ovarian cancer. I had all your symptoms. You should not have constant diarhea (diarrhea). Unfortunately when we see cysts they can have some cancer in them or behind them.  Don't like your fatigue also.

Most of the time it is cysts. But you cannot go with the statistics. I got ovarian which is a 2 percent and then on top of that it went to the brain which is another 1-2 percent. So it all  happens.

See  a gyn/onc. I wish you luck.

One of my symptoms of OV was diahrea, started out as a period thing, then kronic, just about after every meal...Even had myself tested for ulcers. Also tired all the time, lots and lots of gas.  All that stopped after my hysto. Was told the diahrea was due to asisticed fluid in abdomen.  Best you go see your ONc asap...sending you positive energy

Thank you everyone for you words.

I am going to make myself heard at my PCP and let him know that it's time for me to see a onc/gyn and very soon.

After all this time of thinking in my head and second guessing myself it's nice to hear others.

Thanks much...
