Ovarian cancer?

Ovarian cancer?

26 yrs old.

This year I started to become very bloated and have all sorts of digestive issues. My period became irregular. I developed fairly serious lower back pain which would radiate up to my ribs and shoulder. I went to the doctor and she diagnosed me with irritable bowel syndrome. Of course, it wasn't IBS.

I began to feel pain every day in what felt like my right ovary. I could put my two fingers on it directly and identify where the pain was coming from. I went to the doctor and she sent me for an ultrasound. Nothing was found. I then began to have increased pain, I started to look pregnant but never was. I experienced severe pain during intercourse. One day I had extreme abdominal pain and had to go to the hospital as I was unable to move. The doctors said that I likely had a cyst burst or it was Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. They tested me for gonorrhea and chlamydia and to see if I was pregnant. All tests came back negative. They sent me for an ultrasound. The doctor found a complicated blood-filled cysts on both ovaries, mainly my right.

My family doctor gave me a requisition for an MRI and to see a gynecologist. The MRI will be in a couple months as it is based on priority and I am classified as important but not urgent. They will use dye as they suspect there is hard material in my cyst.

The gynecologist received my file and imaging scans this week. I got a phone call being asked to go and get a CA 125 test. Do they think I have ovarian cancer instead of cysts?

I am steadily gaining weight and remain bloated, my bowel movements remain difficult, I need to pee always and intercourse remains painful at times. I am tired and my back pain is intense. Pain in my right ovary persists but it feels as though things have improved since the days leading up to when a cyst first burst.

My friends who have had ovarian cysts say they never had to have an MRI or a CA 125 test. Is this just medical vigilance or might they suspect me of having ovarian cancer?

Hi There
I do not have enough information to comment
I would need the actual report of your scans
I would say that it sounds like your doctor is being very thorough
best wishes
