Ovarian cyst after menopause

I am 51 and have had a long history of cysts.  about 8 months ago i had an ovary and a 12cm septated cyst removed.  since then i have had no period at all,and a few hot flashes, my doctor did an FSH test and said that it indicated  menopause.  about 6 weeks ago i began having the old bloating, back ache, pain with intercousre etc. symptoms and an ultrasound showed a 5cm or so cyst.  i will get a repeat ultrasound in 2 months, should this be happening?  thanks,  robin

Hi Robin,
it is not rare to see ovarian cysts after menopause.
Did you have the whole ovary removed or just the cyst?
What was the pathology report from the cyst?
It sounds like you should consider having your ovaries removed if you are having symptoms and are developing recurrent ovarian cysts.
