Ovarian cyst

I have had a history of ovarian cysts, in 2001 I had a laporsopy done to remove a cyst on my right ovary and also removed my overy so I thought. This past week I had a lot of pain in my rower right side when I had a ct scan done it showed a cyst on my right ovary. Now they say that only part of the ovary must have been removed and it is trying to ovulate and is now causing cyst to form. Is this possible and is the doctor resposible for this or does this just hapen from time to time?

i have heard of people having part of their ovary removed so they can preserve fertility. do you know what type of cyst it is?

It was a fluid filled cyst. How ever in 1995 my uterus was removed due to endimetriosis? After surgery they had started me on premrin for hormone replacement therapy. I am now currently taking menest. So I know they would not have left part of it behind for fertility. I am at a loss and am not sure why this would have happened. But any information you or anyone else  may have is very much appreciated. Thanks CandiceK

my friend had went in to hopspital for a hysterectomy (SPelling sorry) she was plagued with thrush for years but they also discovered she had a growth in her uterous. they put her on HRT and gave her injections to shut the ovaries down but her thrush came back worse than ever and the last i had from her they were leaving the ovaries there and just removing her womb because she was having adverse reaction to HRT.

i am no expert on this subject but i can ask her for you and report back.

i think she said they left the ovaries in for her body to have enough estorogen (spelling sorry) and so she wouldnt have to continue to take HRT.

i will phone her and ask for you.

hey girl if your in pain get it sorted a lot of doctors put u on d pill.im in a lot of pain from mine had surgery 2 weeks ago and am grand now so dont worry i am 34 and have 4 kids but am a child at heart i forgot to grow up but hey i having a ball its the only way
