Ovarian mass, pain, options

I have an ovarian mass, measuring 46X56X82mm, volume 109 cc on left ovary.  I have a large meningioma, brain tumour which was partially resected 2 years ago. I was hospitalized for 2 days last week for severe abdominal pain, vomitting etc in local hospital with no OB/GYN.  I had previous ovarian mass 1 year ago.  It reabsorbed.I had a hysterectomy with right ovary removed due to endo 6 years ago.  I am in pain, I have seen Gyn. in past who is not anxious to operate due to my medical conditions.  What should I do?  I can't keep going on like this. How do I know I don't have ovarian cancer? I am 48. I live in Canada.

You poor thing it sounds like you have had more than your fair share of gyny issues. I know there are health issues assosiated with a radical hyst (and of course surgical menopause)but I have never really understood the decision to hold on to bits of reproductive organ once fertility is not involved - what you are suffering now being a prime reason.

I think you should get a second opinion re the cyst. A cyst of over 8cms - although unlikely to be cancer - is unlikely to resolve on its own. Furthermore unlikely is not a word id like to play russian roulette with.
