Ovary Aches

One of my ovaries is aching for two days & noticed annoying pain down below my kidney (behind the hip bone).   Ovaries never hurt like this.  Wondering if just ovulating immensely or should I get examined pronto.   Usually ovulate 4-8 days after menstruation, it's only been 1 day after menst.
Perimenopausal for the first time (42 yrs.old)-not a lot of symptoms, occasional hot flash 1x/week, taking vitex, few helpful herbs, really calming.  
Thanks for your helpful site, don't have an obgyn now but did get a pap smear 1-1/2 ago.  Now we don't have insurance & at this point not sure what to do.

You need ot see a gyn an dhave an exam and pap smear.  It is hard to know from history if pain is due to ovaries, bowel, muscle and so on.Only a physical exam can help sort that out
