Ovary/Uterine probs--am I weird or what?

Ok. Let me give ya a history. I've had one period in the last two years. Last one was April or May 05. I was diagnosed a year ago with Polycystic ovaries and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Fast forward to about a couple of weeks ago. I ended up in the ER because of severe LLQ pain and nausea. Did a CT scan and said a cyst probably ruptured due to small amt free fluid in pelvis. Had a follow up U/S last week to check on the fluid and because I feel like I'm pregnant (which I'm not) and the pain in my abdomen has become a dull ache, although persistant. Report shows two uterine fibroids..one 7cm and one 5cm. These didn't show up 9mo ago on my last US and didn't show up on my CT scan. My gyn didn't seem too concerned, but that's a pretty big size just to pop up "all of a sudden." Any advice? Plus, I thought fibroids made ya bleed like crazy but that's not my case. Anyone else have this prob???

Welcome to the forum.  Don't worry, you are not weird!!  Everyone's body reacts in different ways.  I may not have any answers for you, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Someone with knowledge in that area will be along to help and offer some advise.  Believe me, the women here are wonderful!  Godspeed.

No, you're not weird.   I have an asymptomatic fibroid myself.  I also  have a uterine polyp that  quickly developed; it  was discovered a year after  my surgery in 2004 when I had an ultrasound for a suspected cyst.  When our hormone/endocrine systems go whack on us, these things happen, and I have learned that they can happen fast, too.

Thanks ya'll. I just feel like I'm the only person on earth with all this. My gyno said she's never quite treated anyone like me before that didn't respond to medications and such. I'm 26 and she said that it's VERY abnormal for someone my age. Thanks ya'll. I've been reading posts in here and elsewhere and ya'll seem like a great group of women. :)
