Ovary removal...

Boy am I in a pickle of a situation in my life right now.......:( I was wondering if anyone knows if an ovary can be removed through the vagina, instead of surgically, laproscopically.....I'm going to be having ultrasounds on my left ovary soon (because my gyn. felt a solid mass on my left ovary manually) and after reading up on laproscopic surgery to remove an ovary and how awful recovery is with it.....I can't go through with that....I've been in such awful pain for so many years, I know I couldn't get through a surgery that painful....
So I will see what the ultrasound and CA-125 tests show and go from there I guess............if my doctor says I have to have the surgery, then I go home and wait for the end I guess..........

it is too bloody, too hard to see anything, and too high a risk for bladder and bowel injury

laparoscopy is safe and appropriate
take care

Thank you for responding to my post...
Why would it be difficult and dangerous when vaginal hysterectomies are done and they remove organs much bigger than an ovary....?
I'm lost........and ready to give up.

Hi there
vaginal surgery for removing an ovary would be very difficult and dangerous.
laparoscopy is the best way to go
