PARP inhibitor Phase II trial

by Coorong, Jun 03, 2009 12:55PM
Hi.  My sister and I are BRCA 1/2 positive, and my sister currently has ovarian cancer.  She desperately needs to get onto a Phase 2 Parp inhibitor trial, as she is seriously ill.  She has been fighting this disease for 4.5 yrs now, and is doesn't have the time left to participate in a Phase 1 trial.  Do you know of any Phase II trials in the US or UK that are open that she could participate in?  She is on intravenous fluids and nutrition as she has multiple intestine and bowel blockages.  Any help you can give will be wonderful.  Thanks

Hi There,
here is the link for clincial trials:

http://www.cancer.gov/clinicaltrials

if you click on find a clincial trial, it will take you through the available studies.
I am so sorry for the tough times you and your sister are going through.

For you, if you have not already considered this, you should consider a prophylactic removal of your ovaries and fallopian tubes.
take care

Thanks for your reply, Dr Goodman.  I did have prophylactic surgery 4 years ago, so that is taken care of.  I have searched the clinical trial website on several occasions, but will do more research.  Perhaps I have missed something.  Thanks for your advice.
