Pain after my menstral cycle. assocaited with PCOS?

Hello,
I have a couple questions regarding my periods and ovarian cancer.
I was diagnosed with PCOS about 50-60 weeks ago (last May) and I have been on Birth control to help regulate my periods for the past 5 months, (ortho-novum)
Started my cycle at 12yrs old and was normal until the age of 16 (ovarian cysts)

My gyno informed me that I need to take the birth control for 1yr then come back in and have testing done to see if I have cancer. I thought it was odd considering if it was something as serious as cancer, that he would do something now about it rather than waiting. He also told me that I am not shedding the lining of my uteris and its starting to back up and grow. (which i have noticed)
HISTORY:
I am 25yrs old, I have PCOS and nothing majorly wrong besides that health wise.
I suffer from depression and anxiety.
I am obese and havent had any problems related to obesity (high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc) everything is normal including my thyroid.
I have had many ultrasounds (vaginal and pelvic) that have shown cysts on both ovaries (2000, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011) and have been given meds to disolve them, no surgeries.
No major surgeries
Normal Pap (2006)
Abnormal Pap (2007) Never given any results??
Normal Pap (2008-2010)
Family history of fibroids (mother) ovarian cysts (mother and myself) ovarian cancer (great grandmother)
No children, or pregnancies (same sex couple)
My questions are:
is it likely that I will have cancer (uterine, cervical, or ovarian etc)?
Will the birth control affect my ovaries so they will function normally?
Why am I having pains after my menstrual cycle? Endometriosis?
What other tests shouold I have done and how soon?

Hi There,

It is very unlikely for a 25 year old to have ovarian cancer.

polycystic ovarian syndrome is a complex syndrome that is managed by  reproductive endocrinologists (fertility doctors).

for management of PCOS, I would suggest asking your excellent questions on that med help forum.
For cysts that do not go away after a few menstrual cycles, they should be removed surgically.

best wishes to you
