Pain two weeks later after right ovarian removal

by Kimbob, May 16, 2007 12:00AM
I had my right ovary removed on May 3rd (today is May 16th)... My ovary was fused to my bowels intestines, but the doctos was still able to remove it lapscopily... I have a 6 month old son and a three year old, and still can not pick them up, because of pain.  My question is should I still be having pain after two weeks?  My docotor said, and I thought I would be better by now and able to do all my normal household things, along with pick up my sons.

I called my doctor and he said I shouldn't still be having pain, but after a quick check over said I was healing just fine...
I also would like to know if I should push through the pain and get back to chores and picking up kids or should I continue to take it easy until I feel no more pain?

Thank-you for any help anyone can give me...

You are still healing internally....why would you still have pain????  I am surprised at the doctor's response.  I did not have laproscopic surgery but I know that it was 6 weeks before I was able to lift.  Holding your son, which means someone handing him to you while you are sitting, is different then lifting.  Don't over do or you will cause additional problems.  Give your self some time to heal...it has only been 2 weeks.
