Paraplatin

Is a once a week  intramuscular "injection"  of paraplatin  the usual treatment for stage 2 epithelial ovarian cancer that has spread to the fallopian tube?  Would surgery normally be performed first, followed by chemotherapy? Would this injection require a simple in & out visit ti the doctor, or would a more lengthy visit be required? Would this chemo drug require an IP catheter?

I have Stage 3c, but I looked under Johns Hopkins ovca site, and American cancer society websites. Both said stage 2, Surgery with debulking, followed by chemo combination of a platinum and taxol chemo. The chemo can be done thru iv drip in vein, or a port can be placed in chest. IP chemo is done sometimes. Hope this helps. Donna
