Pelvic Mass

by Jheria, Jun 24, 2003 12:00AM
In June 02 started spotting went to Dr. as had a histo in 95.Had a ultrasound done and found a mass on left ovary. On first Ct scan done in Oct.02 a 10cm predominantly cystic mass on left ovary with bladder slightly displaced to the right.I opt not to have surgery at that time. Then in April 03, another CT done( at Drs. request) this time a second mass 5cm which appears greater density 30 HU versus approx.16 HU, which could refect a solid adnexal component. What does the density part mean? and solid adnexal component versus cystic mass what is the difference between the two? The report also said the bladder shows some impression on its left postrolateral aspect by the larger mass. Could this be why I have the feeling that I have to urinate small amounts frequently? At this time I still have not had surgery. If no cancer in family and CA125 is normal does that mean that I have a very low chance of getting cancer? The only discomfort at this time is alot of aching in the small of my back.
