Hi, the CEA blood test is used for cancer of the bowel, I've heard of the CA19 test but can't remember what it's used for - you could google it and see. I'm glad you're able to see a specialist and get their opinion.
Take Care,

Thank u so much for all your advices. I just got back my blood test result today and CA125 came out 15. But know they want me to do another blood test CEA and CA 19. Does anyone know what that is for? They also said that I made need to meet with a urologiest sense they are not sure of the location of the mass. This is scaring me. After going back and fort with my primary care physicians, i finally convinced her to give me a reheral to a obgyn/onclogiest. So next week i have an appointment with the general surgen the obgyn wants me to see and with another general surgern/onclogiest I found from a list of top docs in the area as well as an obgyn/onclogiest. Between this docs, some one must know where this thing is and why I have no symptoms. The not knowing where and what scares me.
Thanks for all the support.
Hi, you should see about getting a refferal to either another gyn (they should be examing scans before surgery!) or getting a refferal to a gyn-onc. You should not have a general surgeon or a regualr gyn do the surgery if there is any chance of it being cancer.

I do not recall the name of the cyst, but there is a type of free-floating abdominal cyst that can grow quite large. If I recall correctly, this type of cyst is usually benign. It is possible that if your mass is not associated with the bladder, kidneys, or reproductive organs, then you might have such a cyst. I think that the doctors should study the mass to determine if it is associated with any other organs, such as the colon, before removal. The doctor is correct that it should be removed. However, given the fact that no one knows the status of the mass (benign or malignant) I personally would want a cancer specialist to remove it. If it should be a malignant mass, then the cancer specialist would be the best person to locate and remove as many cancerous cells as possible, and that can literally make the difference in life and death.
