what other option we can go, if our bone marrow cant produce platelets as normally do?

My mom has ovarian cancer and since her surgery in late december, her body is not producing platelets either. She's trying Promacta...and so far in two weeks, they haven't raised (currently at 3,000). She gets both blood and platelet transfusions too. Talk to your dr about this, you never know.  What is your count?
