Please clarify what this means

I would apreaciate the truth and honesty.  I thank you in advance.
I had a hysterctomy in 1974 and am 65 years old.   This is my Ultrasound report.

The left overary measures 5.3 x 5.5 x.4.6cm and contains a large mass measuring 4.5 x 4.7 4.0 cm.  The majority of this mass is anechoic, although there is some internal soft tissue with vascularity consistent with mural nodularity.
The right ovary measures 3.3 x 3.3 x 2.5cm and contains a complex cystic mass with seperation.  This cystic mass measures 1.7 x 2.5 x 1.8cm.
1. There is a complex systic mass with a solid componet involving the left ovary.  This cystic mass measoures 4.5 x 4.7 x 4.0 cm with benign versus a melignant cystic neoplasm of the ovary not excluded.
2. The right ovary also has a complex cystic mass with in it, which measures up to 2.5cm in diameter.  Again, benign versus malignant ovarian cystic neoplasm can not be excluded.

It means that you have a mass they they do not know if it is benign or malignant without your having a biopsy.  What you want to do now is see a Gyn/Onc and have him/her do the surgery or at least available, to perform the necessary surgery, if it is cancer.  The Gyn/Onc is the most important part of the equation, they give us the best chance of beating this disease.  The majority of ovarian problems are benign, however they do not know without a biopsy.  Good luck to you and keep us posted

I would also strongly advise you to have a ca125 blood test done as it could indicate any malignant activity.

I agree with everything marie said.If surgery is done other than laproscopy , be sure to have gyn/onc do that. I had laproscopy to determine it was cancer by reg. surgeon, but then the removal was done by gyn/onc.i hope it is not cancer i am 54 stage 3c diagnosed may 06.
