Please help with surgical induced menopause

Can someone here please tell me how to deal with all the effects of sugically induced menopause. I am exactly 6 weeks post-op from BSO, and did have a diagnosis of stage 1A OVCA. I feel so selfish that I aren't even worried about the cancer dx, as I feel like i'm internally combusting, and am just so negative and SAD. I started on lexapro 2-3 weeks ago, which hasn't really helped so far. I truly just want to disappear, yet I am surrounded by all these loving people. I look at them and think, why are you wasting your time on me, and I know its because they love me. Last night as the decade clicked over, I looked back at all the things that had changed sinced 1999. I lost my mum and my beautiful brother in law to cancer, had three major surgeries, had a car accident, lost contact with my only son and my grandaughter for three years and just can't seem to find my purpose anymore. I've just spent the last 6-7 months battling pain on a daily basis whilst working out this ovary problem, finally have surgery, and BAM, get left with mega menapause. I know I have so much to be thankful for, don't get me wrong, Its just I can't shake this doom and gloom at the moment, and I'm so scared of what I might do to mess up everyones life. I really didn't think menopause could feel so bad.

I am going to try to have your post moved to the ovarian cancer forum....under different circumstances I would advise in HRT. Hormones can cause negative effects w CA.
