Possible with normal CA-125?

Possible with normal CA-125?

I have been reading up and researching ovarian cancer and it seems I have almost all the symptoms. Extreme bloating and rapid weight gain is the most prominent. I did have the CA-125 and it came out normal. I had an ulrasound which found a small cyst on the ovary but was told that it was not of concern. My ob said not to worry because I had no cancer in my family.
I was shown an email by a friend that was eventually diagnosed with ovarian cancer which showed that through a CT scan they found fluid on her abdomen. She later had 5lbs of this fluid removed.  Is this somthing that could happen without a cancer diagnosis?  What would cause it?

In October of this year I had an MRI on the lumbar region of my spine, plus the right hip region because I have experienced an ongoing pain in my right hip, buttocks area.  Physical therapy really didn't help so my doc suggested an MRI to see if there was a back or hip problem.  Everything came back negative but they did find a cyst on my right ovary.  I had a follow-up ultra-sound, which by the way hurt like heck when they were poking around inside--anyway--it confirmed I have a cyst about 5cm.  My doc said it was definitely a cyst and we need to schedule a follow-up ultra-sound in 8 weeks.  I have since had my yearly Gyn exam and told this to my gyn doc.  She ordered a CA125 and has scheduled the follow-up ultra-sound on the 23rd of this month.  Needeless to say--I'm frightened, especially after reading all of the comments on this forum.  I am 57 and had a hyster almost 18 years ago.  I have had off and on dull pain on my right side, especially when I'm sitting and my hip/buttocks problem is still there.  I have had a little pelvic cramping and bloating, but just recently-say last 4 weeks.  My comment is--why the follow-up ultra-sound?  Shouldn't I just have surgery?
