Postponed Chemo Due To Blood Clot

My Mom is being treated for Stage III OvCa.  She had one round of carbo/taxol three weeks ago.  She was scheduled for her second treatment today, however, they found out that she has a DVT (blood clot in the left leg).  They are treating her with blood thinning drugs and they are waiting to see if it will resolve the clot.  The chemo nurse canceled her appointment for chemo today and stated it could be 1 - 2 weeks before she receives her second round.

Does waiting 1 - 2 weeks more because of this blood clot hurt the chances of the chemo treatments working properly.  Has anyone else faced delays?  If you did face a delay, were your treatments still successful?  Is it like starting over again?

Her left leg was really swollen compared to the right.  Then, we went to the ER and they performed a doplar ultrasound.
