Pregnant with cyst??

by MKlacza, Apr 13, 2005 12:00AM
Hi All-
I am new to the site... I am 19 weeks pregnant and told around my 5-7th week that I had a 2 inch cyst on my left ovary

Well... my dr said the last time he checked, the cyst was shrinking. We did another ultrasound last week and he said he couldnt find it. Is this possible? My mother died from ovarian cancer at the age of 38.

It is so hard to say my symptoms as I am pregnant. What should I do??

It is possible for the cyst to shrink and completly go away.  Sometimes they will also rupture, but I've heard this can be painful.  I had a 6cm cyst on my left ovary, the doctor waited a couple of months to see if it would shrink, and hopefully go away.  It didn't, so I had to have it removed.
Good luck with your pregnancy, hope all goes well and you have a healthy, happy baby!
