I was dx stage 4clear cell and told by my onc have 1-5 years if I do chemo the whole time. Have accepted that this could happen but doing my best to prolong it. Just passed my first year, 12 cycles of carbo and taxol. Met a woman who is stage 1c clear cell and has been off chemo for 3 years now.
Hi, I also was diagnosed with clear cell ovarian cancer , was told that the stats don,t really mean that much as its a rare cell type (5%) i was told by my oncologist so not enough data to get accurate stats . It is believed to be very aggressive however so they tend to grade all as a 3 . Even though I was stage 1a i still had chemotherapy as was advised 6 treatments of carboplatin and paclitaxol , I was told that as my clear cell was from malignant endometriosis the prognosis is slightly better. Everybody with a diagnosis of cancer experiences all sorts of emotions and fear was my biggest one , I think the uncertainty and fear of the unknown is a natural reaction for all. As for your question can it be cured , i have been told it can but it could also come back so i am aware of my body and any thing i feel is not normal for me I go and get it checked out. If I can answer anything else for you let me know and I will if I can .
Good luck with everything Love Angie xx
