Question

by PPhelps, Apr 11, 2008 09:11AM
I talked to my aunt last night and found out my cousins daughter is in the hospital. She said she has a high White cell count, and they think is has something to do with the female organs. They said if what some disease my aunt couldn't recall she could become sterile. Does this sound like it could be PID? Or is there something else that could be wrong? She is only 18. They won't let her out of the hospital until they found out why her cell count is so high. I know this is limited info, but does anyone have any suggestions. I'm going to go to Belleville tomorrow, so I'll be seeing her, and get more info. Thanks Paula

Perhaps it was endometriosis? I'm sure there are plenty of other things out there that could cause her to become sterile too but I don't know them all. I'm just on the endo track right now because my own daughter is having some female problems (strange periods and pain) and she and her husband have been trying to conceive for several months now. She's pretty upset and is trying to figure it out. I told her to go see the doctor (duh).

A high white count is usually tied to an infection though. Perhaps they can clear it up and she'll be alright. Hope so. Let us know what you hear.
