Regarding Oncologists and Gyns

Are any of you from New York City.  Are we allowed to discuss our physicians?

I think a discussion of an oncologist or gyn/on treating you for ovca or you are considering for treatment is definitely appropriate here.  In fact if you are lucky you may find someone else who is seeing the same doc.

My GYN/ONC is at North Shore University Hosptial in Manhasset.  

I do not know anyone that used your doctors. but, do know someone that used Dr Barakat at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

My original second look was done at Memorial Sloan Kettering.  When it looked like things were heading in the same direction 2 years ago, I opted to go back there versus having any procedures done at one of our local hospitals...best decision that I ever made.  My surgeon was Douglas Levine, and I did see Barakat during my stay.  MSKCC does take self-referrals, in the event that you are not able to get cooperation from your present doc.  You have the right to request for any of your test results to be forwarded to MSKCC for evaluation.  They are incredibly prompt in getting back to you.  I guess I sound biased towards them, and I admit that I am.  Please let us know how you're doing.

I don't know your doctors, but NYU is a very good hospital.  My mother had her surgery at Albert Einstein Hospital in NY a couple of weeks ago.  The GYN\ONC team has been the best over the past 10 months.
