Right Abdominal pain

Right Abdominal pain

I have a few questions... I have posted here a few times and I thank all of you for your advise... I have abdominal pain on my right side... I have had a endo biopsy that showed some thickness but thought because of the time of the month it was was normal... Two pelvic untrasounds one in ER and on at a center... The US's were about 5 days apart... First show a small cyst on right overy second shows no cyst... Both show no Fiborids... When I finally started my period after three weeks late it was very different... Normally I am four days every 25 or so days with the second day somewhat bad but nothing really to worry about... Well this time I started bleeding really bad first day slow on second day stoped third day started again forth day and then stoped again and spotted for a few days after that... I never spot ever until about three months ago when all of this started... I have talked to Dr about the pain and I get the IBS talk... I really do not think it is IBS... My doctor is on Vacation for a couple more weeks and I talked to his Nurse and asked her what I can do for the pain and she said that everything looked good on the test to wait until he comes back or go to the ER again if it gets bad... Well it did get a little better for a couple of days but now that pain is back... It is in the same spot as before but they say that I have no cyst... Has anyone ever had to deal with this..? I am 39 with three almost grown kids... Sorry about it being long and I hope it makes since... Should I wait or tell them I need to come back in...

It could very well be endometriosis causing the pain. When my doctor did a pelvic exam he suggested there was some thickness there and because it was time for my period he really didn't think much of it.  However when he did a laparoscopy he found that I had advanced endometriosis. If you're in pain I would definitely call them back.  I suffered for too long and I wouldn't advise anyone else too. Good luck!

I too am having the same situation.  The urologist thought it was a kidney stone last week and then the radiologist came back and said it was an ovarian cyst - about 2 cm and some fibroids. I ask, what Dr. can confuse a uretha tract with an ovary??! I had 2 oc's removed in May of 04 b/c they were septated.  But this one does not show that, but the symtoms (symptoms) are 100-fold of those removed.  My Dr. just says, "oh, i don't know what is causing the pain - take some Ibuprofen 800."  I already take vicoprofen for a compressed neck disc. After reading all of these comments, I am calling the Dr. tomorrow and ordering a CA125 test and an MRI. The pain i have experiencing for the past 2 weeks includes severe abdominal cramping that goes into my groin and down my legs (now on both sides), lower back pain that you would not believe, extreme fatigue, and a complete loss of any sexual appetite. IBS is also a major symtom, as are very irregular periods. I feel like I'm already dead (or would like to be).  Not a great x-mas for my family.  So, knowing my body all too well, something is very awry.  Thanks for all the posts.

Thank you for all of your help... I have thought about going back into the ER a couple of times but have suffered through it... Last Saturday night was really bad... I had diarrhea most of the day and the pain at night was bad... I hate to say anything to my family but this is getting old... I have been very moody for the last four or so months and getting worse... I have three teenagers in my house that fight with each other and normally I can deal with it but now I just can do it... I do not know if my mood swings are from my hormones or because I hurt and concerned about what is going on... I keep telling myself that it is fine and it is going to go away... I hurt more when I am setting then standing... Can you please give me advise on what to do if the doctor will not do anything else... I am seeing a GYN because of a abnormal Pap back in May... I have never had any medical conditions except a lymph node (about the size of a walnut)removed from my arm pit about 10 years ago but everything came back normal from that... Like I have said I am so normal with my periods... I had a period on October 10th and again on the 2nd of november and then not another one until the 11th of december but this one was not normal... I have stoped the spotting but the pain is no better...

Thanks for your comments; very scarey, but nonetheless very helpful.  I feel there is something very wrong.  The Dr. I have been talking to is my Gyno/OB.  I understand alot of women get these cysts and most are normal and go away on their own.  And I'm also sure that he gets his share of nervous women (we should be though).  But he should also know me and that I'm not one to run to the Dr. for every little pain.  This is REALLY bad.  And now, because of his lack of urgency, I have to be my own advocate and pressure him or find someone else. This is the same doctor that also told me that the IUD was not the cause of my drastic mood swings.  I had it in for a week and went almost crazy with hormone moods.  Within 2 days after he removed it, I was back to normal.  He went on and on about my stress factor being the cause, but I knew my body better and I was right in the end.  Do you think the MRI will show more?  I had an ultrasound already last week and a CT scan, but I don't think they get down to the nitty gritty of what's really going on like an MRI might.  Thanks again for the info.  Will keep the site posted.

I just want to let you know what happen to me when I started getting pain in my right side.  I worked out at the gym 5 to 6 days a week and felt I pull a muscle which didn't get better but kept getting worse.  Finally after about two months or so I call my gyn and they gave me an appointment right away.  He sent me for a CA 125 plus ultrasound and in the same day.  This was a Tuesday, Wednesday my gyn had the results and Thursday morning my husband and I were in his office making an appointment with a gyn onco.  My gyn called this gyn onco himself for an appointment right away which happen to be the next day.  To make a long story short in a week in a half I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy and had Stage II C Ovarian adenocrcinoma. I had a 14CM mass which was consider a 15 week growth. At the time of my surgery I just turned 44. If I were you I would find me a good Oncology gyn and get his opinion.  I would not mess around with family doctors.  Even after my cancer came back my family doctor said to me every time I get a pain I can't think my cancer is back.  Of course she was wrong and it did come back after 18 months.  I am still battling it and it has been over three years.  Good Luck! This all sounds kind of like what I've been having. I've been dealing with pain in my lower right side for about 2.5 months now. It's not appendicitis obviously b/c it's been too long for that. My bowel movements haven't been as regular as they were before the pain started.  The pain seems much worse when I need to go to the bathroom.  I've been trying to get in to see my gyno, but she's been sick two of the times, & i've been on my periord the rest of the times.  I have an appt the 17th, so hopefully she'll figure this out.  At first, I thought it was a cyst, but over the phone, they didn't think so.  They thought it sounded like an infection. However, it hasn't gotten terribly worse over this time, so I don't think that's what it is.  I really have no idea & hope it's nothing serious when I go in there. I'm only 23 years old.  My periods have been right on the dot- no change at all.  I have been extremely emotional with mood swings however.  When it's hurting the most, the spot is bloated & I can feel it sticking up.  If anyone has any information, please email- telisa_99***@****.  Thanks!
