Right Ovarian Dermoid

Hello,

I had a right ovary cystectomy (Dermoid) size 3.8 cm * 5.5 cm.  in March 2010.  It was benign.
I am 33 years and still single.  My question is will this affect my fertility?
I will I have difficulty getting pregrnant in the future?

Thank You

Hi There
it is very small
if you are trying to get pregnant, I would recommend close follow up with serial ultrasound say every 3 to six to check fro any change in size

in the mean time, work on getting pregnant
the more surgery you receive, the more your fertility will be reduced
best wishes

Hi Dr.,

After my dermoid removal from the inside of the right ovary was removed in Mrach 2010, I experienced a pain in the sam ovary.  At first, I thought becouse of the operation, but after 6 months of the operation, I kept experiencing almost a daily pain inside my right ovary.  I went back to my dr. and he suggested an MRI scan.  It was done in September 2010 and revealed that I am having a 1.5 cm solid mass (they were not sure if it is a dermoid or not!!)
He then gave me a choice of wether we wait and watch or do a laparoscopy to remove this mass.

Since then (3 weeks) I kept having vaginal discharge mixed with blood, bloating and pain.  This happens at least 5 times a week.

What do you suggest Dr. Goodman?

Hi There
this is an ovarian cancer forum. Luckily, dermoid's are usually benign tumors.
