Ruptured cyst - ovarian cancer

by Worried6, Jul 10, 2003 12:00AM
I am 33 years old and I had a ruptured cyst about 5 weeks ago and never fully recovered. They say it was a bad rupture but 5 weeks seems like a very long time. I have at a CT scan, 2 ultrasounds, seen a GI doctor, for my ongoing symptoms which included over that time abd pain (mid and lower), lower back tail bone pain, changes in my bowel movements, etc. Now my back pain has ended but I still feel the ab pain and still am not normal. They have been trying to figure it out and have been puzzled. Now they are saying it was a complex cyst (not sure what that means). I am scared since they do not seem to know what it is...can this be Ovarian Cancer and they are just not looking of it?  Can this cyst be cancerous? Can a cyst cause so much trouble? I am worried sick.

They did an ultrasound weeks after the rupture since I was having pain still and told me just recently that it was a complex cyst of about 4 centimeters and it had not reduced in size after a month. Now they are doing a surgery..(i can not recall the name) and removing it. Will they be able to see if it is cancerous then or see more what is going on..I am scared to pieces..I just want to stop worrying.
