I am a 22yf. I was taken to the E.R. last night for severe abd.pain they gave me a lot of pain meds and sent me home, told me to follow up with my personal Dr.I found out that I had 2 cyst, 1 on the left and the 1 on the right ruptured. I don't know what type of cyst but I am still in a lot of pain and I am very scared. I need an a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys help to undstand what to expect or what type of references. Please help if you can.
some cyst are functional... and come and go during your monthly cycle. Especially if you are not on Birth ControlControl Control rx. Functional cyst are fluid filled and will just go away.. if they get too large Dr may put you on brith controlControl Control rx to make them go away.
I had a cyst (functional-fluid filled) ruptureAortic rupture, chest x-ray Ruptured eardrum Tracheal/bronchial rupture and I thought I was DYING!!!! It hurt like nothing I had ever experienced before. The pain is caused by the fluid from the cyst being in your abdomen. they don't get along and it hurts! My Dr. told me that pain meds, bedrest and starting the pill would help-and it did. You might also get a bit of a fever-just because the fluid can cause a mild infection-ask your dr about that.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE.I have a new found mental comfort,I have some people one to help, guide, comfort, and understand what I am going through during this time. Having all of you, lets me know that I am not going throught this alone. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN.

I was 24 years old when my cyst ruptured and I had to actually have surgery. The pain was so bad that I could not walk. I feel your pain and hope that it doesn't get as worse as mine did. It sounds like no one else had to have surgery because of this? I wonder was it necessary for the dr. to even do that? Now, I'm curious. Thoughts anyone?
I was 25 when I had to have surgery to remove a cyst that was the size of a lemon. My doc advised me to stay on bc and take ibuprofen to relieve the pain. Why does it take so long for docs to dx ovarian cysts though? I'm now 27 but I started having pain from cysts when I was 24. Three times I ran to the ER. The first two times the docs said it could be kidney stones or my gallbladder but no one did an ultrasound. The last time however the doc ordered the ultrasound and they keep me in the hospital overnight to control the pain. God I miss that IV now. haha jk. Well I was really stupid recently and thought I would skip my birth control pills. BIG MISTAKE. I was in the doc office this past Monday getting an ultrasound and sure enough they found a cyst on my right ovary. So now I'm playing the waiting game and downing Advil like a junkie...
I was advised to take my pill up to 6 months before letting my body get a period. then when I finished one of my pill packs I never got it. I had a cyst and didn't know because I thought it was my pill that was preventing me from getting my period when it was actually a cyst.
I had cyst when i was trying to get pregnant (a lot of infertility drugs) a couple ruptured and I had a lot of pain. I was put on birth control to get rid of the other ones and meds for pain.
I hope this helps!!
Thanks
Lisa
ps: were you on the pill?
Good luck-get lots of rest!
