SLOW GROWTH OF A OVARIAN TUMOR

WHAT DOES SLOW GROWTH OF A OVARIAN TUMOR MEAN?
I HOPE I'M NOT WEARING MY WELCOME OUT, BUT, I TRUELY FEEL LIKE I CAN TALK TO YAW AND YOU GIVE ME HONEST ANSWERS.  I'VE GOT SO MANY QUESTIONS. MINE HAS GROWN 4CM IN 2 YEARS..THE LAST 3 MONTHS IT GREW 1/2 CM.

if he definately know its a tumour, which can be a solid cyst too or the term they use for a malignacy then it is best to be biopsied. mine was fine to leave or so they said then it changed and they said it needed to be looked at by operation. i have had the lap but he could not do the biopsy without remving the ovary too. he has looked at my cyst that looked solid by the scan but he can see blood in the corner or the ovary so he firmly believes it is a hemorrhagic cyst that means its bled into itself and therefore changed shape. i don't think i can live with that diagnosis and up to now, i go to see my doc again on the 14th june, i want the biopsy but i must admit coming onto this site and seeing how only a minority turn out to be malignant i am now swinging towards leaving it there. time will tell soon. by the way, my cyst is nearly 4cm and is irregular shaped and not round and smooth. that was the main reason for the operation too. most docs believe in removing these. could yours be a dermoid that could get bigger and they want to remove it now before it gets any bigger. also have they mentioned the possibility of it being cancerous. i think that a ca125 would be a good thing to ask for. regards and keep us posted. karen

it sounds like my tpe of cyst which is a hemorrhagic cyst. this type of cyst can show as complex because it is filled with blood. from what you are saying it may be that the cyst has become larger and become this way, it has bled into itself. i can understand your concern completely as i have just had a laparoscopy for this. mine was actually there 18mths ago and was a simple cyst but after a rescan it had become this way and the examiner has no way of telling it from a solid tumour. therefore the only definate diagnosis is to go in and take the cyst and maybe as i have been told take the ovary as well. i came around from my op to find that no biopsy had been done and now have the option as to leave it as the doc definately thinks it blood that is within it or to get it removed along with the ovary and have the biopsy. i hope this helps you. i can really appreciate your concern. what is your age and have they done the ca125 on you also. i had that test and another tumour marker done before i left the hospital after finding this. i realise that in premenopausal women it is really inconclusive but it could help too. i hope you go on ok. kind regards, karen

THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING...HE DID SAY THAT MINE WAS SOLID AND FLUID, I'M ONLY 32.  I'M BEEN HURTING FOR OVER A YR NOW AND BEEN THROUGH ALL THE COLON TEST AND THAT IS FINE, WAS SENT TO HAVE MORE DONE FROM GYN/O . THAT IS WHEN THEY FOUND THE CYST.  IT GROWED 1/2 CM IN 3 MONTHS. I'VE BEEN HAVING LOW GRADE FEVERS FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW. HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT IT NEEDS TO COME OUT..I'M JUST CURIOUS WHY ALL OF SUDDEN HE WANTS TO DO THAT.  I'M GOING TO GO TO SEE HIM AND FIND OUT ALL MY QUESTION. THEY ARE SAYING IT IS A COMPLEX CYST BUT, THE DR. IS CALLING IT A TUMOR.  2 YEARS AGO, BEFORE THEY REMOVED MY UTERUS, I HAD A PEA SIZE CYST, I'M NOT SURE IF THAT IS THIS OR IF THAT WAS JUST A MONTHLY CYST.  BUT, MY POINT IS THE LAST ULTRASOUND 2 YEARS AGO THAT I HAD, DIDN'T HAVE A 4CM CYST.  I'M JUST CURIOUS ABOUT THIS. MY SURGURY IS SCHEDULED FOR THE 16TH OF JUNE. THE DR. SAID, IT NEEDS TO COME OUT.  I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK HE SAYS THAT IT WAS COMPLEX, AND HAD SOME SOLID AND SOME FLUID FEATURES.  3 MONTHS BEFORE THAT THEY SAID IT WAS A HEMOTOMINA, OR BLOOD FILLED CYST { SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLING}. AFTER 3 MONTHS THEY ARE SAYING IT NEEDS TO COME OUT.  I'VE GOT AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DOCTOR, BUT, JUST THE WAIT TILL I SEE HIM. ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT IS COMPLEX AND IS GROWING SLOW WITH BLOOD FEEDING TO IT...WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IN YOUR OPINIONS.  ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME FRIENDS!!!

when you say 4cm in two years do you mean it has not resolved in two years. what type of cyst are they saying it is. is it blood filled or suspicious of being blood filled. also how long is it actually since this cyst was diagnosed. is it two years and they have left it in or two years ago you did not have it. i have tried to look back at your other questions but am unsure as to type of cyst it is.

I'M GOING TO ASK ABOUT THE CA125 BLOOD TEST.  THAT ISN'T SOMETHING THAT THEY SAID ANYTHING TO ME ABOUT.  MAYBE WHEN I GO TO SEE HIM HE WILL DO THAT..I'M NOT SURE.  IF NOT I'M GOING TO REQUEST IT.  HE DID SAY THAT IT IS PROBABLY BENIGNED BUT, IT ALSO, COULD BE SOMETHING MORE.  SO, THAT IS LIKE HUMMMMMM, YOU JUST NEVER KNOW.  MY  NEXT APPT. IS JUNE 14TH...I KNOW I JUST DON'T LIKE WAITING!

I JUST CALLED THE DR. AND ASKED ABOUT THIS BLOOD TEST AND I'M WAITING FOR THE RETURN CALL.  I DON'T WANT TO BE A WORRY WART, BUT, I'M JUST CURIOUS...IF IT WAS A FAST THING I GUESS I'D SAY, I DON'T HAVE TIME TO THINK BUT, BECAUSE I'M HAVEING TO WAIT A MONTH, ITS SEEMS LIKE FOREVER!!
